Quiz contest in Texas Championship 2014

In Response To: Quiz contest in Texas Championship 2014 (mochy)

The two seminars in San Antonio -- Mochy's Proficiency Test/Results and Phil Simborg's Quiz Contest linked here -- were wildly successful and contributed greatly to the tournament experience for all.

Both events were very well attended. Mochy had on the order of 30 people take the exam Friday afternoon and probably more than that attended his results seminar Saturday morning. I didn't make a count but likely more than 50 people attended Phil's Quiz Sunday morning. Phil has a unique way to let people have fun while providing a lot of good information at the same time.

Many thanks to both Mochy and Phil for helping with the success of the tournament. Thanks to Connie Riles for being the Proficiency Test proctor. Thanks to Mochy, Bob Koca, MCG, and Petko for being the contestants for Phil's quiz -- and to Akiko for besting them all.

In addition to a great backgammon tournament with many events, the 2014 Texas Backgammon Championships in San Antonio was the 'destination event' Tara and I conceived and designed. A great city and great dining. A unique hotel with a great playing venue. The Spurs/Bulls game. The two great seminars. A wonderful Super Bowl Party -- a nice social event attended by 50-60 or more. All made for a great time.
