In Response To: Fives Reasons Online PRs Are Lower than Live PRs (Paul Weaver)

1. You don't have to worry about legal or illegal moves;

2. It's easier to move the checkers and look at a play and move them back quickly and easily;

3. When you are playing on line, you know your match may be recorded and seen by others, so you are playing strictly for the best PR. In live matches, you may be more concerned about how to game your opponent or take gambles to win that you would not make if you knew the PR was critical.

4. In addition to cheating with bots, on line you can look at take points and gammon values; you can get help from a friend who is watching; and as we all know, if you have an in with the people who run the machinery, it may even be possible to know what the next roll is going to be. If there is money involved, or prestige, or someone is just a sick person, they will find ways to cheat.
