I'm not sure if you're addressing me in that post, Phil, but I wasn't referring to your board. Indeed I doubt the person who did have the board I had trouble with brought it intentionally to confuse his opponents. He's an Open player and wouldn't need to do such a thing any more than you would. I assume most people don't have a problem with his board. It had obviously been used since the time of Moses. I just didn't know how to say, "Gee, your board is pretty crappy and I have this nice beautiful Taki I'd rather play on. Oh, and I don't like your shoes." As I said, he was very much my better.

My point was not to complain about his board per se but just to say that I suspect my PR in live play may vary from my computer play due to external circumstances having nothing to do with backgammon knowledge. But I have no way of actually knowing since I've never recorded a live match.
