How often do you wind up being too good or close to too good by such a small amount you have to think about it? Now on top of that how often are you going to be able to use one of a handful (?) of reference positions you may have for too good positions? A pure rarity at best. Your time is certainly better spent elsewhere if you're going to memorize reference positions for OtB use. When it is possibly a close decision I've already given my thoughts on what you should weigh when you actually chose as your OtB action.
