Not having seen gnu for an age it must be leaving the blot on the 9 point. Theres obviously a great gammon chance to consider. Six and five may become non playable forcing maybe a blot in the prime. The 3 point is a target in order to ease bear off. Blue wants to be hit “EAT ME”. If hit the prime is protected for the moment and small rolls made easy. Not an unusual play when bearing in to force a sacrifice. NO need to count rolls etc just optimize the roll. In the mean time that tower on the 2 point aint going anywhere.
