13/8
Four reasonable candidates here. 13/9 6/5*, 20/16 6/5*, 8/4 6/5* and 13/8. The 8pt figured in my decision to double in the first place. At the time, any one of 9 rolls (66 55 44 33 11 53 51) was good enough for an initial double. I would have made the 8 and the opposing 5pt on 53, rather than risk all by hitting.
8/4 6/5* is the wrong idea as it removes a key checker away and behind the line of attack. I've seen a few strong players make this kind of error. If I'm going to hit, then I'm going to need back-up which, rules out 20/16. Now I'm down to 2. Make the 8pt or attack full-on. The 8pt accentuates longevity; an outer asset that's most definitely worth having if I need to scramble my way home. Also, most of the oppositions 3's will secure the golden anchor - I count 7 good rolls for them, but I'm not telling! Attacking opens the door to 7 very strong returns and especially stronger than the 7 rolls after securing the 8pt.
