Getting lost in semantics

When people start arguing semantics, I want a beer. I agree that semantics are important when you actually write the rules...very important. But we all know what we are talking about here and don't need to get sidetracked by semantics and wording.

Let me give you an example of taking things literally too far:

A woman asked her wife to go to the store and buy a gallon of milk, and if they have eggs, by 6.

He came home with 6 gallons of milk.

When his wife asked why he bought 6 gallons of milk, he said,

"They had eggs."
