Make a ruling

In a LM match A and B both have checkers on the ace and two point. A rolls a 61, removes the checker from the 2 point and picks up the dice. Realizing the error A asks for a ruling and argues

i) it is only by way of a technicality that his play is legal ii) he is tired and there were distractions in the room iii) it is obvious what he should have played
