It really depends on usage patterns. If Win7 is the 32 bit variant then there is lower overhead for many Applications.
However Keene is right, if you needed to you could always upgrade the RAM later on. Likely the 2GB of RAM in the T60 is 2-1GB sticks. You'd have to remove them and upgrade with 2-2GB sticks of RAM for a total of 4. I believe the T60 has a maximum of 4GB. Not all 4GB of RAM would be usable on Win7-32 bit. Since part of it backfilled with the memory for the videocard (128MB) and other reserved by the system. You can buy 'New' 4GB of RAM (for the T60) on Ebay for about $60 .
