Even more reasons against LM

1) This is not a Legal Moves issue. The exact same scenario would occur whether they were playing Legal Moves or not. 2) A casino has requirements on what is a legal roll in craps. There's no reason those requirements would be the same for backgammon since the playing surface is so different. Also has nothing at all to do with Legal Moves. 3) Sure, the beginner can be forgiven for being wrong about something. Has nothing do do with Legal moves. 4) This, I suspect, the crux of many objections to Legal Moves; the fact that it is unenforceable. Obviously none can tell for certain that you saw that illegal move your opponent made. I believe the push for Legal moves is about establishing a different norm. The goal is to have accepting an illegal move that is to your advantage no more acceptable than more conventional modes of cheating. 5) Kind of an ad hominem argument against Legal Moves. Some proponents of Legal Moves doing something you don't like is not relevant to the argument for or against the subject.
As no one has the power to read your mind, no one can make you abide by the rule. We can just say unkind things about you if we suspect that you don't, but we can do that anyway. ;)
(Obviously don't mean you personally)
