In a clocked match, every single play, including doubling, is affected by the clock. The clock frequently changes playing strategy, as you are well aware of. Some players play better than others with a clock. So when some players use a clock and others don't, then the playing field has certainly been changed.

Somehow a changed playing field is apparently relevant to LM but not relevant to clocks. Somehow spectators are bewildered by LM vs NLM but not bewildered by clocks vs no-clocks. I'm hoping you can educate me on that point, not on sandwiches.

If we draw each other in Vegas, I will be happy to use a clock with you. Even a box. But sandwiches are out.
