I often had trouble seeing how many checkers were stacked in the shadow on the ace point.

At what time was the illegal play? There was no illegal play or 33 when you say.

The 55 took less than a minute. Mochy played quicker than I think he usually does with a clock. I am not sure what you are used to but play at ABT tourneys even with clocks may be significantly slower than you are thinking.

Explain to the older players how using clocks is to their benefit. I think they are the ones more likely to resist it.
