55 is a good blitz number, but is the blitz sound with the PF's having made their five-point? It's certainly less effective than a usual early 55 blitz. 8/3(2) 6/1(2)* is tempting, but it seems to me that all it accomplishes is dumping a bunch of checkers behind the anchor while exposing a blot on the eight point.

OTOH, 9/4(2) 6/1(2)* makes a better point and doesn't expose a blot. I definitely like that better.

20/10 9/4(2) gets a runner out of there and provokes our opponent to abandon their anchor, and that looks good too.

13/3 8/3 is another good option, but how to play the final 5? Hit loose and bury a checker? 20/15? Not seeing either of these as good options.

I'm going to go with the tempo hit to forestall an attack on our slotted checker on the 20. I don't like making the ace point, but it does give 9 dancing numbers and takes away half a roll. we'll be up by 30 pips, so if we can bring the runners around we'll be in good shape. We might be able to do that while they are trying to get off the bar.

9/4(2) 6/1*(2)
