Thanks for posting these problems.

Regarding your variant with the blot lifted, it depends on where you lift the blot to. Put it on the forward structure, and 13/7 wins, but put it back on the midpoint, and 7/1* elbows its way past it into first place again.

The difference favoring 13/7 seems to be in the single wins, not gammons either way, in the cases where you lift to the forward structure. If the blot is back on the midpoint, you get about the same single wins whichever play you make, so you might as well chase the gammons.

Just looking at it, it appears you'd rather he have the blot moved forward, even to the 6 or 8 point, rather than to his mid. A spare on the mid could be quite useful to him as he tries to prevent your escape, or maybe just needs to eat half a roll in a nondestructive way, so you'd rather he not have it.
