It is easier to slot this sort of ace when trailing in the race. Given a tied race, plus the fact that 4s are not duped, playing wild, W = bar/22 6/5, is probably not a whole lot better than playing up, U = bar/21, or splitting, S = bar/24, 13/10, if at all.

One argument for slotting is that Blue has little chance to improve his structure any other way, but I think he needs more.

Entering on the 24pt does not feel right. Neither does V, bar/22 24/23, which brings a checker within direct range of White’s stack on his 8pt.
