It's that time of the year, when you can take the Backgammon Proficiency Exam in Nordic Open. This is the third version of our exam, and over 100 players took it in just the past year.
Mochy and his team devised 50 high-quality and well-balanced questions for the exam. Thus, the exam is a worthy challenge for players at the intermediate and advanced levels. (Details at http://blog.backgammonexam.com/en/about/)
The reason why I recommend the exam is that you can get some special benefits from it, such as follows: - Improving your basic backgammon skills - Checking your own level of expertise - Having the opportunity to compete with backgammon players throughout the world. (We list the current results at http://blog.backgammonexam.com/en/score/)
Currently, Matt Cohn-Geier (Giants #5 2011-2012) and Giorgos Kleitsas is #1 in terms of most answers right, and Falafel (Giants #1 2011-2012) is #1 in terms of least error made. If you get the highest score this time, you can prove your skill to the entire world. Now, try to get the highest score!
The 3rd Backgammon Proficiency Exam is scheduled as follows: Date: Sunday, April 20th, 2014 Time: 11:45 am - 12:45 pm
(Details at http://www.nordicopen.dk/index.php?id=8) Price: 50 DKK (Testing fee including certificate)
150 DKK (Official commentary booklet is optional)
The next day, you can take Mochy's seminar on the answers and the commentaries for this exam. Date: Monday, April 21st, 2014 Time: 10:45 am - 11:45 am
It would be an honor if you would attend.
Sincerely, Akihito Yokose
