Blue to play 21

I missed this thread (maybe because I didn't think "random 21" sounded like an early game position, or maybe because it was threadbare?) until I get back online a few minutes ago.

I've often seen this type of play with an ace-shift but with a deuce shift it is pretty rare. The key is to consolidate Blue's position into a cohesive unit, rather than having disjointed blots on the 8pt and 1pt while owning the 11pt and 5pt (which are six pips apart).

As a bonus -- and I believe this is what puts it over the top -- if White hits with 64 or 41, she will have to leave a second blot that Blue can hit with 2s, as well as 3s plus diversified 6s and 1s (making it possible to come in with the other half of the roll) to hit back on the 5pt.

If I have time before bed, I'll answer your Wild-or-not #5 post.

Nack
