The human wouldn't have to do all that much. How many names will each voter write in, anyway? Average will probably be a fraction of a name per ballot.

I occasionally have a write-in to include, and it's usually a foreign player whose name I may or may not spell correctly. Those in charge have always known who I meant, or at least I think they did. Nobody has ever asked me for a do-over on my attempts to spell a Scandinavian name with a US character set.
