Running to the 18 exposes a triple shot, and white will happily hit with the midpoint spare or by breaking either of the other two points. Slotting the 7 means white has to break anchor to hit.

OTOH, running works well when it works at all, while making the 7 doesn't help blue's position all that much since white has an advanced anchor. And being hit on the 7 loses a lot more ground in the race than being hit on the 18.

So which one? Good arguments for and against either. I'll slot the 7 - the midpoint is crying to be unstacked and I can run the backman later.
