First of all, I would like to thank Stick for steering me away from my misconceptions. Secondly, i applaud Stick for making the effort to help players who are struggling to understand the basics of the game.

After thinking about this for several hours, i can see my error in thinking that gammon chances for, must be greater than opponents winning chances, as a definition for 'too good to double'. Potential gains and losses of match equity are also part of the equation.

i've got a lot to learn and a lot of work to do, but it's all a great challenge and a lot of fun.
