Advanced Backgammon #99

Will a four-point block generate enough counterplay for a take? My guess is no.

I think it is Robertie's 501 that gives a guideline for this. One up against a four-point board is often a pass in the early/middle game. White may be playing a priming game, but with 11 checkers in the zone and a strong anchor to fall back on, Blue will usually shift out of priming mode to go on the attack on this roll.

There are many gammons to be won!
