I'm not talking about 100 total across all divisions. I mean 100 or more in the Championship alone. To call something a Major event, it really has to be a premier world event, and there can only be a handful - there can be only very few of the "best" otherwise you are diluting the brand. I am sure that there are many very large golf tournaments (european open for example), but they dont get called a Major - so as not to dilute the whole grouping of Majors.
