The more proficient we are at the game, the more common "non-complex" games show up, as we know how to play them, so they are no longer in our mind complex. What I am saying here is that to Stick these may seem boring, but to Anti-Stick, they may seem fascinating. Another thing here is that the players played the moves very smoothly, without too much thought, so they created the appearance of "easy" - the plays after the fact have a "well, now that I see the play, its quite obvious really" feel to them. This adds to the perception of boring / not boring.

Short version: they're not boring to everyone.
