Backgammon variant with slightly non-random dice

In Response To: Backgammon variant with slightly non-random dice (Timothy Chow)

ugh.

It would mean every time you post a problem here you'd have to state which cards have been played. And then you could post 5 variants showing how the play would be different if there were different cards left in the deck.

Seems to me it would make the game way way more complicated without providing any up side.
