2a - 5a cube vs fish

I don't have any stunningly original insights here, but:
1. A fish MET isn't the whole story. As any ichthyologist will tell you, there are tens of thousands of fish species. Thinking that a single number (PR) characterizes a fish completely is like thinking that you know everything about a (literal) fish if you know its weight. If you want to learn how to adjust to your opponent, it's more important to learn how to read people than to read Trice–Jacobs.
2. What have you observed about the cube tendencies of your opponent? Might you get a drop if you double? Might your opponent forget to auto-recube?
3. What have you observed about how your opponent plays holding games? For example, is your opponent going to hang on to the midpoint and bury checkers? If you haven't been paying attention to the nature of your opponent's checkerplay errors (and non-errors) then the first thing you need to do is to start paying attention to that.
4. How confident are you in your own play? Do you know when you should/shouldn't save sixes? or pay now? If you don't cube now, do you feel confident that you'll know when you should cube?
5. If you win a single, how well will your opponent play the rest of the match compared to how well he or she will play the rest of this game?
