US OPEN

The first US Open in Las Vegas is all over. As usual Howard Markowitz most professional staff including Troy Longman, Director, John Carrico, auctioneer, Mary Franks, Staffer... Did an excellent job in the Dungeon @ the Flamingo.

The playing room was more than ample in size and could have handled twice the players.

CJC had her boutique set up and did some brisk business.

Paul Franks hunted intermediates with little success. Tim Lawless and Lucky Nelson are evidently better shots than Paul is. Congratulations to Tim.

Dorn Bishop won 1.23 million matches to take the Consolation over Steve Sax and become the eventual finalist of the Super Jackpot by beating Steve again.

Malcolm Davis was able to be one of the two players who beat Dorn this weekend in winning the Super Jack. Apparently he missed his flight home waiting for the finals. I think he won enough to pay for it, so that was nice.

Jeff Burdsall won the limited JP. Nice job, Jeff. He beat Rick Voeller in the finals.

Other results can be obtained at chicagopoint.com as usual.

Thanks, Howard.

By the way, his November tournament will be called the LV OPEN, but I personally prefer the Nevada State Championship. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
