I don't care what a tournament is called in general. It's not the title that makes it prestigious nor what makes me want to attend. Perhaps if we had backgammon on a grand scale and every state had a championship then I'd agree it matters. As it is, call it either one you like or the Milky Way Galaxy Open, it is only descriptive to me.
