Correction with regard to what occurred at the Memorial Day event a couple years ago.
My brochure stated, "Videotaping in the Open Division, Markowitz Masters, & the World Backgammon Tournament of Champions is permissible by either player upon request." The committee of five which included (Mochy, Carol Joy Cole, Bill Riles, Falafel, Patrick Gibson) unanimously upheld my ruling after taking all facts into consideration including your letter to all directors.
The match wasn't just recorded it was streamed for all to view. I also guaranteed that I would enter the match into XG and the file would be sent to all parties. As part of my original ruling your opponent paid me $100 in order for this to happen.
After the ruling by the committee you were upset and I did my best to empathize with you and calm you down. At which point you said with your fingers pointed in my face, "Fine, then fuck you!"
I should have disqualified you and kicked you out of the tournament at that moment but I didn't. After the tournament you harassed me with nasty emails until you received the match. I sent you the match two weeks to the day after the tournament had ended. I have a family and a life outside backgammon that prevented me from sending it any sooner.
In those emails you made a statement that you would never attend my tournament again so barring you from the Chicago Open is pointless. But know that you are not welcome back until you make some form of a public apology. We both know hell will freeze over and pigs will fly before that happens. Oh well.
