If only we could

The undermining idea of my post was not turning live tournaments into bad resemblance of online ones, not even close. I've been playing online for 16 years by now(started on Netgammon) and enjoy every moment of playing live. Main idea was to make record of top players` matches available to BG community in bigger numbers. Even with today's technology this process is still in its infancy and we rely on few enthusiasts being "happy" to see 3 interesting matches out of a 100(exaggeration, but you see my point). I'm a former ranking chess player(that's all in the past) - all significant matches are available from the end of 19th century(some of them even earlier). I don't expect this message to become a discussion how chess differs from BG(I know ALL the differences). I`ve been playing something with chess clock since I was a kid, i.e. for at least 45 yrs. Yet chess players manage to record their moves playing with the clock. I agree that with long notation it will take significantly more time and a lot of paper, but with Nactation it may become not so cumbersome. Of course, time control would have to be adjusted to allow to write down the move, but not by much. So, playing on XG was just a variation to go "paperless".
