I read the replies before replying and I was going to reply one by one to any reply (thus the reply to Igor) and then everyone was making the same play! So sorry for singling you out Igor, I should have read all the replies then replied in this instance.

The earlier in the game it is the less likely we are to ever give up the 20pt. Here we still have a game of ~160 pips to go. Way way too much game to give up the best anchor. We would need a real reason to ditch that anchor such as hitting a blot while running or big doubles that don't play another way. It's probably even worse AtS.

Being completely against breaking the 20pt anchor there is only one five, 18/13. After that we have three legit twos to consider. I think Mochy was on the right path when he mentioned breaking the 18pt. This creates a ton of spares/flexibility for us. Are we worried about being hit from the opponent's three totally stripped points that he doesn't want to give up and would leave a ton of returns unless both are hit and even then it's only minor progress? No, we aren't.
