A Vegas ruling situation

Interesting to hear everyone's opinion. To boil it down to one sentence for myself:
if you want your match recorded then bring your own equipment and do it yourself.I know this goes against what many people here have been saying but I think there should be no burden put on the person who decides to record his matches.
What it comes down to is how it is handled. In other words, if someone is recording our match and I ask them to send me the match file and they say sure, no problem and I never receive it of course I'm going to be annoyed. If, however, they would have said "If I input it I will send it to you but I don't always get around to doing that so I can't promise you'll get it" and I never receive it no issues. They could also let me know if it sometimes takes them a while to input matches so I would have no immediate expectations of having the file.
A few things seem on the ridiculous side to me from this thread. Ray's contention that match recording isn't expressly permitted strikes me as wrong. I guess it should be pointed out either in the brochure, the rules, or made known at some point since everyone doesn't see it this way. It has been noted by others though that no other sport/game/etc... forbids this or makes it 'player's choice' on whether or not it is allowed.
Ray also thinks he should be compensated for people being allowed to watch/record his matches? Umm...what? You think anyone who has 'reached a level' comparable in other games should also be compensated? Should every chess GM be paid by anyone who records the match? Should Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen, Phil Hellmuth and all the other donkeys who have their poker hands shown via the card cam get paid because now anyone can look at and analyze how they play?
I agree with Ray that he should get the match file assuming that person ever enters the match. If he was promised it, then clearly he should expect it. If the person is hesitant to make such a promise then providing the video so that Ray can do it himself is totally acceptable in my opinion. You aren't doing people a favor though Ray letting them record your match. These people are recording their own matches. It isn't like Gary or Malcolm or Jason Lee or whoever shows up at a tourney, plays a few matches, suddenly they see they're playing Ray Fogerlund and think "Whew! Thank god I brought my video equipment!"
I could see a loose argument about asking for a fee if you want the match file from your opponent. It's totally ridiculous, I would never pay it, and it isn't kosher but if you want the file, esp. if you want it within' a certain amount of time, then cough it up. Otherwise do it yourself. I brought my equipment to record my matches and I will input them (or not) whenever I get around to it. I have the feeling the fee was asked for either more of a 'stick it to you' kind of thing since Ray wasn't allowing Gary to record or perhaps a joke. I wasn't there, idk.
In short, I'm with CMC that it should be 'recording preference'. However, before the match starts if the player recording lets me know that they may never get around to entering the match or it may take so long if I want it done I might as well do it myself then I will ask for the video and do it myself.
Part of the issue Ray didn't here is that allowing your matches to be recorded often puts you out of the spotlight. Ray likes to bask in it. He wants his friends to be able to watch his matches if they want to. He likes to entertain. It's more entertaining for sure to watch a match between Ray and Player X than it is a match between Mochy and myself. This is a valid concern in that respect. I wouldn't see any problem if it is recording preference for Ray to be able to request a table in the center of the room with good lighting rather than be shoved to some corner in an uncomfortable, cramped space.
