Were you thinking pass or strong double? Maybe not giving proper weight to one of the following

i) The checker on the ace hurts and makes walking a prime a bit iffy, especially since it needs to advance 4 spots. ii) 66 before a single 6 for white is gin iii) Hopping with one if blue dances gives white the advantage iv) After White hops a single 6, Blue probably needs to attack even if it means a loose hit but white may still have the 4 point board so a bit of risk to that. This combines with idea 1 somewhat.
