In Response To: A Vegas ruling situation (Stick)

My point here was that Gary never sends anyone any match, and since I can never expect to receive a copy why should I have to let him record?

I am quite sure that Gary inputs them into XG, at least some of them, and he expects you to compensate him for his time entering it into XG, so that led me on to the tangent of: I ought to get paid for lessons, or recording.

I haven't ever asked anyone to pay me to record a match and it seems ridiculously simple and not too much to ask to get a copy of the match file. If you don't want to agree to that, or enter it, then I would prefer that you not record. If you don't plan to enter it, then why do you HAVE to record it? I don't get that.

It's not like Gary is going to be bogged down in work transcribing matches as he has recorded hundreds of them without ever once sending someone a damn file. I bet we can find some of those matches on his computer when we open XG, and it would take what, like 5 more clicks to send it to someone?

I have had more matches recorded than even you, Stick, and it has become my pet peeve that I often don't get a copy and players complain of having a back log of matches to transcribe. Okay, so what is the big f'ing deal if you don't record ours right now? Hmm? There isn't any problem with NOT recording it, and there should be no problem with transcribing it. If you don't want to I am okay with that, I obviously don't want to do that work myself... So we can agree to disagree and you don't have to record this one, okay?

I have paid recorders upwards of $100 to transcribe, and always tip them. I wouldn't mind paying but when you are a giant and people want to stream or record all matches of yours that can get expensive. Bill Robertie declined to have our match streamed in NY I think, stating it was a distraction. It always is a distraction, to a certain extent... Not terrible or intolerable, but it becomes intolerable to me when you want that favor but refuse to grant me an XG file in return.
