I've seen or heard of this countless times. Clock runs down, person makes illegal or hurried misplaced moves…

Basically the person is using nonexistent time or their opponent's time (when opponent properly positions checkers).

It is basically an abuse of their clock and is due to, often (but not always - I know) suboptimal use of their clock.

If someone misplaces a checker in a situation like this, fixing it really should come off of their time, even if it's 1 or 2 seconds.

Most don't throw my checkers haphazardly and it's unfair that some do.
