I think you've hit on it. I would pay for a video annotation far quicker than a written one. Why don't you try it? I think it would be far more interesting, and, for some of the positions, you could show a couple of variations to illustrate your points.
Note, of course, that I can pause the video, go back and listen to a part a second time if I don't get it, and I can play the video back several times if I want to. Also, an advantage of a video over a transcription is that I can hear the tone of voice and get deeper meaning about what you are conveying.
Yes, I think Video is the way to go, and you have got at least one customer in me.
As to why Giants don't take lessons, I am sure it is partially ego, and partially they don't think they have anything to learn from you that they don't already know. I am most proud of the fact that the great Kit Woolsey has taken a couple of lessons from me in the past couple of years. Why? Because he felt that I knew some of the latest concepts and approaches to some things that were not yet published and he wasn't sure of and he wanted to learn. He was not embarrassed to take lessons from me, but bragged about it...wanting everyone to know that it is not beneath him to try to learn something new, even from someone who is clearly a worse player than he is. Did he learn anything? Ask him, but he says he did, and he says he will use them over the board.
Would you like to know what things he learned? Well, that's how I make a living, and I don't pretend that everything I do in backgammon is a donation to the USBGF or the game. I love it when people say I am "self-promoting" and my answer is: "What's your point?"
