Due to the demand by many for a tournanment like this one, the WCC is proud to host the first ever tournament of this kind. All are welcome to apply to play. It is at the discretion of the host whether to allow players in or not. Bribes accepted for byes. The rules follow:

WCC World Cheating Championships

Rules:

Rule #1 - When in doubt, the host’s word is law even if it is biased and doesn’t make sense.

Rule #2 - Always demand that you sit at your table and be the player on the right as it is the lucky side.

Rule #3 - Dice whining is mandatory.

Rule #4 – If your opponent rolls a joker, typing lol is mandatory. If they roll an anti-joker it is suggested but not mandatory.

Rule #5 – Insulting your opponents play is also mandatory, particularly if they take a cube you thought was a drop.

Rule #6 - If you know the cube was a drop you are allowed to wait until you gammon them with it to tell them it was definitely a drop.

Rule #7 - If they then gammon you with the blunder cube, tell them they are cheating and immediately leave the table, especially if the match is close to the end so they cannot save the dice log. This way the match will not be finished so you won’t really lose.

Rule #8 - Many brb's required. When you say brb, you really mean "I'm going to the store, so wait for me." It can also mean “Hang on, I’m having data entry problems with Gnu or Snowie and don’t know yet if that’s a take or a drop.”

Rule #9 – The following will be used as much as possible: crap, jerk, you are too lucky, vld, lol and any other insults you can think up. No compliments allowed unless followed in the next line of chat with lol.

Rule #10 - If your opponent doesn’t say gg glin after each game tell them you will be reporting them to the host for rudeness.

Rule #11 - Saying nr may be done at will. If your opponent does not respond with an immediate ty, you may wait to roll until they respond. Saying brb usually works.

Rule #12 - Saying vnr is limited to when your opponent rolls doubles while on the bar or rolls the life-saving roll thye need the roll right after you close your home, or especially for right before you double. Saying vnr is mandatory if they roll a high double that destroys their board completely.

Rule #13 - You must say "Very nice move" after opponent makes a blunder move. This will be followed on the next line of chat with lol.

Rule #14 - Stalling for doubles is suggested and gloating when it works is mandatory.

Rule #15 - Swearing during Crawford is considered correct though not mandatory.

Rule #16 - Constant chat is very important when it's time for opponent to move or cube. Insults and suggestions made by the audience are to be encouraged, in particular on hard cube or move decisions.

Rule #17 – All players agree to be not only sore losers but also sore winners.

Rule #18 – If you win, telling your opponent they play at novice level and they are lucky they found their way to the room is mandatory. This may be done at the board or on the main chat.

Rule #19 - After the match is over and you have lost it is then mandatory to say on the main chat at the following: “Backgammon sucks,” followed by at least one of the following: “This site has a horrible dice program.” “How much did you pay for that cheating dice program?”

Rule #20 – It is encouraged that you post the win even when you lose. This makes the host happy. When in doubt and host’s friend, see rule #2 under scheduling

Scheduling:

Rule #1 - Scheduling attempts are to be posted on the forum as well as emailed every day for duration of tournament. Multiple emails daily recommended.

Rule #2 – These attempts will be disregarded by host if host feels in a bad mood or wishes a friend to advance.

Rule #3 - All opponents must make the other wait at least 20 minutes past scheduled time. Not showing up at all is suggested but not mandatory. No forfeits will be granted. Both players will be given a warning and will advance unless Rule #2 is in effect.

Rule #4 – Rule #2 is always in effect.
