It's conceivable that with enough of a skill difference, you should steer away from gammon-losing plays more than the bot recommends. The rollout indicates that 15/12 13/9 loses more gammons than 15/11 10/7, but of course that may be partly because the bot will continue to try to slot the bar point in subsequent play. You could try changing the score to 3a16a with White owning the cube at 8, to force the bot to avoid gammons even more avidly than at gammon save, to see if that changes anything. If it still wants to slot at that score, then it's hard for me to think of an argument for not slotting.
By the way, another thing to think about is what will make the rest of the game easier for you to play. If you make the six-prime then your game will become easier to play. If you don't, you'll probably have to struggle with difficult containment checker-play decisions over and over again.
