Chicago--the way a tournament should be

Though I didn't do well the first day in the Tournament of Champions, it was a pleasure and an honor to compete against and spend a day with not only many of the best players in the world, but also in a room with one of the most congenial atmospheres I have seen in backgammon in years.
No one was throwing chairs.
No one was screaming loudly for their favorite roll from the bar.
No one was screaming at the director or even asking for a ruling.
No one complained when the director announced we were playing Legal Moves or cried that he had been cheated because of that rule.
No one was making loud noises and comments while playing and then turning around and asking others to be quiet because they were in "an important match."
It was just a beautiful scene all around. Why can't all tournaments be this pleasant?
