OT: Chess equivalent of Magriel's book

If your nephew is a beginner, I recommend Learn Chess by John Nunn. It's available at Amazon.ca for $10.79. I do not have the book but it has received several favorable reviews. John Nunn is my favorite chess author and all of his books which I bought are superb.

Some of my fellow chessplayers like the books by Jeremy Silman.
