Gridgammon question

There is no way to force this game to be finished. You can invite the person to finish it but if they never accept it won't be resolved. Generally people don't abandon much on GG (I have 6 and a couple/few of those are from started sessions against students that were used simply to check something) but you can check in the lobby before starting the match. If they have double digit abandons you may want to wait for a different opponent.

Your games will be saved to the default directory, C:\Program Files\GridGammon\SaveGame\, unless you change it. You can see this again from the lobby go to Options >> Autosave settings and adjust as you see fit. I have everything checked in the Autosave tab.
