Yes, my post is relevant to that question. Do I know if SportAccords they consider backgammon a "sport". No, and I don't care. I would guess that the question has never come up for them, since there is no worldwide federation or association representing backgammon. I know they do consider bridge and chess to be "sports." I know that bridge can be argued to contain some element of luck. I know that although "sport" usual connotes physical competition, there is also a broader definition that includes games such as chess, go, backgammon, Othello, and bridge (the five officially recognized mind "sports" (or "mind sports") in Denmark).
