Our gammon value should be higher than normal because a gammon would take us to the Crawford game and keep us away from the dreaded 3a many away score.

With the small difference in number of shots left after either play (10 v. 7 by my quick count) and the play leaving ten shots peeling off a checker these decisions will obviously be close. Normally I'd decide something like this based on my opponent. Against weaker players I'd make the dmp play noting that my gammon value is not all it's cracked up to be and lengthening the match will be more to my favor. Against XG I'd rip one off with the opposite thinking. Are we the stronger team here? Modesty tells me we are so I'll vote for 5/1 4/3 but really don't care which play we make.
