Without the surplus on 23, only a surplus on the ace remains 51 and 41 entries become board crunchers (after 7/6 5/3*). So the last variation gains in strength. Also only 2 shots from the bar (53) while the 4 and 3pt blossom leaves 44 and 53 (3) shots from the bar.

Generally, reducing the higher point surpluses increase the board crunchers and therefore return shots for us when he enters.

OtB I would have passed by this position like a fast train and would only stop to think if I was in trouble... The efficiency of redoubles is key. Game plan: redouble!
