You are treating the 5% of the time that a 11 or 22 is rolled as always swinging a gammon but you can still run off it and if gammoned might have been gammoned anyways.

Also even if you knew you would miss any shots that came up it might be right to stay just for the race anyways. Staying gives a slowdown in that Factors will then be playing safe on many rolls. 64 is just one example.
