Things aren't grim when 25 numbers don't hop and 44 and 33 lose the game instantly. It is not the take that is in question, but the double. It is very important that White's spares are good shape so he has timing also also good chances when Blue breaks.

This is probably a double when the cube is centered but sure doesn't seem to be a recube.
