Reason for asking this question

In Response To: Reason for asking this question (Robert Chow)

1) At 2-away 2-away I do not double immediately against opponents who also will not do so. By waiting I have managed to "steal" a point sometimes, reaching Crawford.

Like Tim said you are not necessarily making an error. Also this doesn't seem to be a big factor. You need to reach 2a 2a, and then have a single point won, and then still not go to DMP.

2) At certain scores such as 4-away 4-away, I am a chicken when deciding to redouble to 4 or taking a 4-cube, making DMP.

Just look at those situations for errors directly. I don't see the need for your round about way of gathering evidence for something which might only possibly be explained by those errors.

3) As the leader at 2-away Crawford, my opponents and I get gammoned more often than "normal" due to poor checker play.

Similar to what Tim said, I've usually heard that games with weaker players have fewer gammons at those scores rather than more. Personally I don't see why it would shift one direction.
