Another of Life's Important Questions - Same Lines

This is a bit tougher as it takes someone who first of all reads, which is a rarity in today's American society, and secondly ends up reading enough that they run across books turned into movies. (or make it a point to do so) I am far from the person to ask on this particular subject while I do read a fair bit, and even some books without pictures (non backgammon, non poker, etc...), I'm no bibliophile/bookworm.

Here's tke scant effort I can make:

• Stand by Me
• The Princess Bride
• The Shawshank Redemption

I've heard of other classics where the film version may prevail over the written word but I haven't read the book so what can I say.
