The title implies that there's a bit of QF lurking here, but i'll try anyway.

Behind by 30 pips, blue wants to maintain contact. He also doesn't want to bury a third checker on the deuce.

After 20/10, does the bar-point holding game provide enough contact? maybe.

the other play I'd consider is bringing two down from the midpoint. QF says teh bot play is something bizarre like 20/14 13/9 but I can't justify that.

I'll just Pottle here. It should reduce gammons and the holding game is sound, if not particularly favorable.
