Us Brits are known for huge understatement, and conversely, massive overstatement. My wife frequently reminds me of this.

JoH:BTW, Raj says his 2.98 pr is just "fairly acceptable" to him?

So, this is like saying, "yeah, I won like, a million dollars. Its OK."

Another example is "I'm starving." when really, you are just plain hungry. Or "I'm dehydrated" when one is simply thirsty.

Of course, you could always take it at face value, and that he's OK with this average / slightly better than average PR.

I had played a stupid sub 3, then I'd be pissed about that.
