Thanks for reminding us about the biggest difference between 64R-11 and its sibblings, 63R-11 and 62R-11. Checking my notes, I see that you made the same point in your analysis of 63R-11 back in 2010. That post is well worth rereading.
In the early game, one reason for running to the 14pt instead of, say, the 15pt or 16pt, is so that you can clean up your blot with both 1 and 6. In justifying the 11-Each reply after one of the 6x running plays on the opening move, I made the mistake of thinking that concept was the main reason why E fell back in relation to N when the runner had stopped short of the 14pt. I guess a careful “36ing” (i.e., a roll-by-roll comparison of the follow-up moves), focusing on 62R-11x-62, 63R-11x-63, and 64R-11x-64, would reveal the swing.
